NSW Health Primary School Mobile Dental Program
Toongabbie East Public School students will be among the first students to have access to free dental care through the NSW Health Primary School Mobile Dental Program. The program will be delivered by experienced NSW Health staff, who will be using a combination of fully equipped dental vans and portable dental equipment set up on school grounds.
Parents/guardians should have received a Parent Information and Consent Pack about the program and we are strongly encouraging all families to take full advantage of this fantastic government initiative.
Students who have returned consent forms will receive a comprehensive dental examination which may include a dental clean if necessary. If medically required students may also have x-rays taken and/or fluoride applied to protect their teeth. A review appointment may be also be scheduled within 12 months for a check-up and a second application of fluoride. If a child needs follow-up dental care (e.g. fillings), public dental service staff will contact parents to discuss options for treatment. This may include providing further treatment at a school-based mobile dental clinic or in a local dental clinic. Parent consent is required for any further treatment.
Please return the dental forms to school by Monday the 12th of August. If you require assistance filling out the form then please make an appointment at the office and Kati or Ms Koulouris will be able to help you.
